I don’t know how much crueler Israeli authorities can get. According to ReliefWeb and Ma’an News Agency, COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories)-and people say there’s no Israeli occupation in Gaza?-denied 57 boxes of children’s toys from UNICEF from entering the Gaza Strip. Was it because they feared that Mr. Potato Head’s spare parts could be used as shrapnel in a Hamas rocket? Nope. The reason the toys were not allowed into Gaza was because “the toys were not a humanitarian priority.” Plain and simple. So Israel doesn’t allow necessary building materials into the Strip in fears that they would be used by Hamas to build rockets and now they choose not allow toys in simply because they’re not a “humanitarian priority”?
I guess Israeli authorities aren’t as cunning as I thought they were. I mean if I were them, I’d figure if I deprived Gazans from going anywhere, barely allowed enough food in for them to survive, and bombed their land to pieces, I would at least allow the toys in just to give the impression of some goodwill. But no; they’re ruthless bastards.
