Lebanese farmer grows 22-lb potato, gov’t offers protection December 15, 2008

Ok, so maybe the Lebanese government didn’t offer up some bodyguards to protect this farmer and his 22-lb potato, but maybe they should considering this country’s love for this tuberous crop. Seriously, I’d never eaten so many dang french fries in my life as I did during a trip to Lebanon a few years back. Since when did french fries become a mezza staple?

Anyway, world record here we come!
