Bahraini prince sues the “King of Pop” November 17, 2008

JacksonRemember when Jacko was living in Bahrain, of all places, a couple of years back?  Well, according to the Associated Press, Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the son of the king of Bahrain, wanted to rebuild Jackson’s career  (he would’ve had as much luck doing that as Jackson has of rebuilding his face).  So he invited Jackson, his family and entourage out to Bahrain to write a book and work on a joint recording project.  Turns out Jackson did neither (surprise, surprise) and the prince is now suing him for 7 million dollars that he supposedly paid up front.  What was this guy thinking?

See, this is what happens when you have so much money that you don’t know what to do with it combined with a serious lack of judgement.  I hope this Sheikh Al Khalifa loses his lawsuit.  It’s not like he would ever get his money back anyway.  Where’s Jackson going to get the money from? He just lost his precious Neverland Ranch a week ago.  Wouldn’t this money have been better used to promote Bahraini culture?

Apparently MJ may be too sick to travel…

“Jackson is seeking to give his testimony by video link from the United States.
‘It would be unwise for him to travel, given what’s he’s got now,’ lawyer Robert Englehart said, declining to elaborate “‘for the obvious reasons.'”

Uh, so what’s he got now? Why won’t they reveal what illness has befallen the king of pop?

update – lawsuit has been settled…wonder what the terms were…

    side note:

    (quoted from the article)

The sheik, the second son of the king of Bahrain, said he believed he had formed “a close personal relationship” with the star, whom he referred to affectionately as “my brother.”

his brother, huh? really? honestly, i’m beginning to wonder what kind of “close personal relationship” this was anyway…

  3. Nawal Says:

Yes, I read that today also. I’m with you on the whole “close personal relationship” thing. LOL

Btw, did you read that MJ supposedly converted to Islam and changed his name to Mikaeel? I honestly don’t know what to make of that. I still think he’s a freak though. Oh how I long for the “Thriller” days.
